Roots Academy aims to help university students live a God-centered life by offering courses and workshops on campuses across 40+ universities. I overlooked the entire brand and created a cohesive visual identity along with multiple apps and platforms for both instructors and students.

Problem Statement
As Roots Academy grew, so did its products: the student app, the instructor portal, and the resource hub. Each had its own design inconsistencies, which made the overall experience feel fragmented. This slowed development, confused users, and made scaling difficult.

Solution
I designed and implemented a unified design system to bring consistency and scalability across all products. The system included:
Core tokens for typography, colors, and spacing to create a clear, accessible visual language.
Reusable components (buttons, forms, cards, modals) built in Figma for speed and consistency.
Responsive layout patterns that adapt seamlessly across mobile and desktop.
Accessibility baked in, ensuring inclusivity for students and professionals alike.

Problem Statement
The instructors faced challenges in managing their teaching materials, schedules, and resources. The existing system was fragmented, making it difficult for them to access lesson plans, training materials, slides, and reviews, and effectively engage with students.

Solution
The platform was designed to streamline the instructor's experience by providing a centralized hub where they could seamlessly access all the information and tools they need. Instructors can view upcoming courses and workshops, check their teaching schedules, review course feedback, access lesson plans and teaching slides, participate in training, and engage in Q&A sessions.

The Instructor Portal has simplified the instructors' workflows, providing all the necessary tools in one place. This has led to improved preparation, more effective teaching, and higher student engagement across campuses. Real life feedback was that it is a seamless experience with everything in a centralised area.

Problem Statement
Roots Academy had a strong library of workshops and resources, but students and professionals struggled to engage consistently. The existing system was instructor-focused, leaving learners without a dedicated platform to easily track their upcoming sessions, access past workshops, or explore additional content like podcasts. Navigation felt scattered, and the lack of personalisation made it difficult for users to quickly find what mattered to them.

I designed a dedicated student-facing app that placed clarity and accessibility at the core. The new experience introduced a streamlined dashboard showing upcoming and past workshops, integrated podcasts for on-the-go learning, and an easy review system to capture feedback. The interface followed a professional yet minimal style, ensuring that students and professionals could stay engaged, motivated, and connected to a God-centered learning journey.

Result
The redesigned Roots Academy app made it easier for students and professionals to stay connected with their workshops and resources. By streamlining the user flow and introducing a more intuitive dashboard, users could quickly access upcoming workshops, podcasts, and reflections without confusion. Feedback from early testing highlighted that the experience felt more focused, professional, and aligned with the academic tone of the platform. These improvements not only enhanced usability but also encouraged greater engagement with the learning materials.
Task Success Rate – After redesigning the workshop booking flow, 92% of students successfully registered on their first attempt (up from 67%).
Time on Task – Reduced average time to sign up for a workshop from 2m 30s → 45s.
Error Rate – Cut booking errors (e.g., double submissions, missed confirmations) by 40%.
Onboarding Completion – Improved onboarding screens increased completion rate from 56% → 85%.
